Target Coupon Policy Changes

There are two new changes to Target’s Coupon Policy that you need to be aware off.

The first change:

BOGO coupons cannot be combined (i.e. you cannot use two BOGO coupons on two items and get both for free).

I have been asked often if this scenario was available and of course my answer was always no. It looks like Target was getting the same type of inquiries, so they decided to address it on its coupon policy.

The second change:

A second cents-off coupon of the same type cannot be redeemed towards the purchase price of the first item.
If a Target BOGO coupon is used, one additional manufacturer coupon maybe used on the first item.
If a Manufacturer BOGO coupon is used, one additional Target coupon may be used on the first item.

This is a very important change because in essence Target is saying that you can not use a second manufacturer coupon when you are using a BOGO manufacturer coupon. You can use a second Target coupon though. So this means that scenarios like the one below will not be allowed (the coupons mentioned are just for illustration purposes, they are not actual coupons)

NOT allowed:

All this stuff would have totaled approx. $46 without sales & coupons!! Crazy!! I used the $4.49 in Register Rewards & had to pay $9.29 OOP (including tax) and I still have $8 in Register Rewards to spend... so the net spent on these 2 transactions was... drumroll... $5.78!! Yay!!

I can't say that this went off without a hitch and thank goodness I looked at my receipt & Register Rewards to make sure I got everything I was expecting, because the Lysol $3RR didn't print out and I had to have the manager fix it. Let me tell you... after only 3 visits to this Walgreens store, Freddy & I are getting tight!! LOL Thank goodness he's very helpful. Out of all the drugstores that I shop at for deals, I have to say that Walgreens is not my favorite. Right now, I'd have to rank them: Rite-Aid, CVS, then Walgreens. But since the Register Rewards expire every 2 weeks, I can make it out there twice a month.

I posted this Staples deal on Facebook, but not the blog. I didn't want to go out of my way & waste gas for $3, but I was headed to a party in Newbury Park on Saturday (the last day of the deal), and wanted to do some deals that were on the way. Since I would be driving past the Oxnard Staples, I stopped by to see if they were still accepting the coupons. I had read different stories about limits, etc... even though the coupon said "Limit one per person per day".

I grabbed 2 cases of water, on sale for $3.69 each and went to the front with my son (another "customer"). The cashier said due to an overwhelming response they are limiting to one per household even though the coupon says different. This is another reason to hop on these deals ASAP when they come out. So I took my one case of water for 69¢ + CRV and left.... I was also driving to the Camarillo outlets, and I remembered there was another Staples right by there, so I swung in & got the other case there. Took me 5 minutes since I was driving that direction anyway. So I ended up with 2 cases of water for 69¢ each plus CRV. YAY!!

I went to the Camarillo Outlets to see if we could score a free package of Adidas underwear from the Factory outlet store that I posted here. Bummer... we missed out on that deal. The lady said they gave out their last package that morning. The coupon expires 6/14 or will supplies last. I guess they didn't last until June 14th. LOL

TIP: Saving Ink

I wanted to share with you something I do to save on ink when I'm printing out coupons. When I click to print a coupon, I watch it print out... as soon as I see that the coupon has printed, I hit the CANCEL PRINT button on the printer so it won't waste ink on the recipes or large ads that print under the coupon.

Make sure you don't hit your BACK browser button to print the 2nd coupon before you cancel the print job, because you'll lose that second coupon that's in the print-memory. Each coupon needs to be printed separately. Wait until the one comes out completely before you hit the BACK browser button to get the second coupon.
